Strategic planning is important to an organization because it provides a sense of direction and outlines measurable goals. Strategic plan document is a tool that is useful for guiding day-to-day decisions and also for evaluating progress and changing approaches when moving forward.
NEPWHAN’s five year Strategic plan was last developed in the year 2010 of which it is now obsolete. Consequent to this, NEPWHAN organised a 3-day strategic plan development workshop with the intention to:
Take stock of the implications of the NAIIS, as well as changes in the institutional, funding and policy mechanisms supporting the AIDS response in Nigeria for our mission and work;
Jointly review where we stand today and consider the opportunities to re position and strengthen NEPWHAN as a critical partner in the National HIV response; among many others.
The opening ceremony was graced with the presence of many prominent personalities among which was Director General of National Agency for Control of AIDS – NACA and many others.
