NEPWHAN Zamfara State Office Team (SOT) facilitated a one-day mentor mothers’ monthly review meeting held on the October 16, 2024 at the State Agency for the Control of AIDS (SACA)’s Conference Room in Gusau, Zamfara State.
The review meeting availed mentor mothers in the state an opportunity to review their activities implementation progress, share notable successes, lessons learned, and challenges encountered in the period under review.
Given the updates, the State Office Team coordinated a technical session where the participants deliberated extensively to proffer solutions to addressing all identified bottlenecks and mapped out strategies to help the mentor mothers in replicating best practices for an improved community PMTCT program outcome.
At the end of the meeting, all issues identified, and strategies developed at the meeting were documented as actionable points with definite timelines assigned to individuals to track successful execution.
While thanking everyone who contributed to the success of the meeting, Mr. Ibnideen Bashir Abubakar, the NEPWHAN’s National IT & Communications Officer, who was excitedly in attendance, in his closing remarks, acknowledged mentor mothers’ dedication toward improving maternal and child health through coordinated integrated support to women living with HIV in Zamfara State.
The meeting had an impressive turnout, with a total of 150 mentor mothers attending from the 14 focal Local Government Areas in the state. Other attendees included key stakeholders from SACA, representatives of ASWHAN, and NEPWHAN Zamfara State Office Team.
